Data Sources & Interpretation
Our maps are created from data provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and state environmental agencies. Our maps show all radon zones in red so consumers better understand that no radon zones are necessarily considered “safe” and that testing should be prioritized in all radon zones, even in areas where radon is less prevalent. High radon zones have been found in areas not known to have high radon levels/radium content and the only way to know what the radon levels are in a specific building is to test that building.
